iPad Basics, Tips and Tricks: Don’t miss out on the many hidden features and secret shortcuts for your iPad. Participants will learn how to type faster, browse quicker, secure data, maximize battery life, and much more. In this session participants will practice organizing apps and favorite websites, and learn how to save time and work more efficiently with an iPad. This is a great session for those teachers just starting out with an iPad in the classroom.
Teaching with Tablets, Classroom Management and Teaching Tools: Tablets are a great tool for communication, collaboration and learning in the classroom, but how do you manage all that technology? Participants will spend time exploring apps and activities that make classroom management of technology manageable and even a little fun sometimes. Group members will explore cloud storage, management of data, bookmarking favorite sites, projecting with tablets, must have accessories, tools for assessment, using the iPad with Smart or Promethean boards and much more as we learn to teach with tablets.
Apps and Activities for Higher Order Thinking Skills: In this session participants explore activities that utilize the iPad’s potential for critical and creative thinking. Group members learn strategies to combine the use of apps for project planning, brainstorming, producing and presenting solutions to problems. This session is great for those schools wanting to explore some tools and activities designed to get students up and thinking. Participants in this session will have the opportunity to explore and create some interactive lessons designed around the upper levels of Bloom’s taxonomy.
